ENEMIES OF CHANGE

ACTS 13:36-56

JAMES 2:1-9

Aristotle said that there is nothing as constant as change. In life people grow from babyhood to teenager and from being teenager to Adulthood, then proceed to their old age. This is common changes we see physically. In the same manner we have spiritual changes which we may not notice when they are taking place. That is why we should consume spiritual food which is the word of God for spiritual rapid growth and development as a Christian.

Even our God is a God of changes and innovation. The law could not fulfill God’s demands towards his creation and brought about change, so God have to send His only begotten son to die on the cross for us. The coming of Jesus has brought about a dramatic turn around. Let us see the changes:

ACTS 13:36-37

(36)     “David, on the one hand rendered service to God in

            his own generation, fell asleep in death, was laid

            with his forefathers, and did see corruption

(37)     On the other hand, the one whom God raised up

            Did not see corruption”

Jesus Christ did not see any corruption because he died to bury corrupt nature and resurrected with incorrupt nature or glorious nature. That is a great change towards forgiveness of sins to mankind.

ACT 13:38-41

(38)     “Let it therefore be known to you, brothers

            that through this one a forgiveness is being

            proclaimed to you.

(39)     and that from all the thing from which you could

            not be declared guiltless by means of law of Moses

everyone who believes is declared guiltless

by means of this one.

(40)     Therefore, watch out that what is said in the

prophet does not come upon you:

(41)     ‘Look at it, you scorners, and be amazed, and perish,

            for I am doing a work in your days, a work that you                          

            will never believe even if anyone relate it to you

            in detail.”

Now since God is a God of Change and innovation. Anything that fights change in your life is of the Devil. This is why the Jews remain till date the greatest enemies of the gospel of Jesus Christ. There is nothing that fights change like Jews. Sorry to say this: they are church goers today but their doctrine contradicts the gospel they prefer to go by Law of Moses than doctrine of faith. This is why they are enemies of grace, establishing their own righteousness leaving the righteousness of Christ by the side.

ACT 13: 44-46

(44)     “The next Sabbath nearly all city gathered together

            to hear the word of God.

(45)     When the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled

with jealousy and began blasphemously contradicting

the things Paul was saying.

(46)     Then Paul and Barnabas boldly said to them”

            It  was necessary for word of God to be spoken first

            to you. since you are rejecting it and do not judge

            yourselves worthy of everlasting life, look! We

turn to the nations?

And I prophesy, whatever that will oppose change in your life this year shall be uprooted today!  Amen.
