ACTS 21:1-14
HEBREW 12:1-2
The Jews till date remains the worst enemies of gospel of
Jesus Christ as well as great persecutor of the saints. They like to compromise
the standard of believe to suit their tradition. And as a result, they can do
anything to stop a true believer from propagating the real truth about Christ.
And this sounds as a warning to true children of God to be careful of the end
time religious practices that encourage wickedness of all sorts, all in the
name of Grace of God. What shall we say then should we continue in sin that
grace may abound? It is not the standard of God for us (ROMANS 6:1)
I TIMOTHY 4:1
(1)
“Now
the spirit speaks expressly,
that in the latter times some
shall
depart from the faith, giving heed
to seducing spirit and doctrine of
devils”
And that is what they want to hear, Saint Paul the apostle
was warned not to go to Jerusalem by the Holy Ghost, but because of love and
zeal he has for the gospel he resisted the Holy Ghost at the cost of his life.
But that is not a good idea for a true believer. A true believer supposed to obey
the instruction of Holy Ghost so that you can be sustained to finish your
mission on Planet earth. When the Holy Ghost says don’t move or don’t go,
please don’t go, remain in the position he ask you to remain because he is sent
to guide you.
Do not trust anybody but hearken to the voice of Holy Ghost
for everything you want to achieve in life, don’t be faster, sometimes the Holy
Ghost wants to slow us down, we should not relent to allow the spirit have his
way. No matter what people calls it. The Holy Ghost remains the superior divine
instigator and instructor.
ACTS 21:4
(1)
“We searched for and found the disciple and
remained there for seven days. But through the
spirit they repeatedly told Paul not to set foot in
Jerusalem”
But did Paul hearken to their instruction by Holy Ghost? No!
Even after arriving in Caesarea in philip’s house Prophet was sent by God to
instruct Paul not to go to Jerusalem. He became stubborn against the
instruction and went.
ACT 21:10
(10) “But after we had stayed there
for quite number
Of days, a prophet
named Agabus came down
From Judea.
(11) And he came to us and
took Paul’s belt tied his
own feet and hands and said,
“Thus says the holy
spirit “The man to whom this belt
belongs will
be bound like this by the Jews in Jerusalem
and they will give him into the
people of the
nation”
(12) Now when we heard this,
both we and those
who were there began begging him
not to
go up to Jerusalem.
(13) Then Paul answered: What
are you doing by
Weeping and trying to
weaken my resolve?
Rest assured, I am
ready not only to be bound
But also to die at
Jerusalem for the name of
Jesus”
Some of us are like that “Having a strong will of their own,
not supported by Holy Ghost but that could be dangerous as well as sin against
God. Don’t be stubborn in serving God because zeal without knowledge destroys
faster than sin can kill. In today’s world we have such calibers of Christians
named as Religion fanatics. And this could be dangerous because sometimes it is
void of Holy Ghost and anything void of Holy Ghost is manifesting flesh and
will power in substitute to the power of Holy Ghost.
