ACTS
6:1-11
We all know that whenever the figure “7” is mention in the scripture, it is a symbol of perfection.
God cannot discuss perfection without mentioning this figure. This figure is
used either for:
(1)
Completion
and Rest
(2)
Perfection
(3)
Celebration
of victory
(1) COMPLETION AND REST: The
figure 7 is used for completion and rest, when God has finished the creation.
GENESIS 2:2
(1)
“And
on the seventh day God ended his work
Which he had made, and he rested on the
Seventh day from all his work which he had
Made”
(2) PERFECTION: The same figure
seven is used to address the church in the book of Revelation.
REVELATION 1:20
(20) “As for the sacred secret of the seven
stars
That you saw in my right hand and of
the
Seven golden lamp stands; The seven
stars
Means the angels of the seven congregation
And the seven lamps stands means the seven
Congregation”
NOTE: Each
Angel was carrying specific instruction from God to correct and perfect the
church or congregation he represents.
REVELATION 2:1
(1)
“To the angel of congregation in Ephesus
write:
These are the things that he says
who holds the
Seven stars in his right hand and
walk among the
Seven golden lamp”
The seven stars in his right hand means justice and
perfection. Apart from the above facts in perfection. The Holy Ghost came with
seven components according to book of ISAIAH.
ISAIAH 11:2
(2) “And
the spirit of the lord shall rest upon him
The
spirit of wisdom and understanding,
The
spirit of counsel and mightiness
The
spirit of knowledge and of fear of
God”
Who was those spirits rested upon? JESUS CHRIST. Isaiah prophesied of his coming and described the
Holy Ghost. Also NAAMAN’S LEPROSY left
him after dipping himself 7 times in River Jordan according to Prophet Elisha’s
instruction. 2 Kings 5:14
(3) CELEBRATION: The word Seven is
used to celebrate victory.
PROVERB 24:16
(16) “For a just man falleth seven times, and
riseth
Up again: but the wicked shall fall
into mischief
Now having established the meaning of this “figure “7” let us proceed to today’s
scripture:
ACTS 6:3
(3) “So
brothers, select for yourselves seven reputable
men
from among you, full of wisdom, that we may appoint
them
over this necessary matter”
Now, what is
that necessary matter in your life? It is demanding for perfection
which is the Holy Ghost. The figure “7” is the solution to the dying
world as well as the affairs of the Kingdom Business. Now, how can we locate Figure “7” to work for the necessary
matter? Through the Holy Ghost:
Acts 6:4
(4) “But
we will give ourselves continually to prayer,
and
to the ministry of the word”
Why? To allow
the Holy Ghost to direct the affairs through the word, the word of God will do
the breaking process, to separate the original from chaff. Now let see what
happened at the end of the prayer and ministering of the word of God.
Acts 6:5
(5) “And
the saying pleased the whole multitude
And
they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and
Holy
Ghost, Philip and Prochorus and
Nicanor,
and Timon and parmenas and Nicolaus
A
proselyte of Antioch.
(6) Whom
they set before the apostles: and when
They
had prayed, they laid their hands on them
(7) And
the word of God increased; and the number
Of
the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly
And
company of the priests were obedient to
The
faith”
Why was all this happening? The wonder of “figure 7” commissioned by Holy Ghost.
Do we need further prove? Yes.
ACTS 6:9
(9) “Then
there arose certain of synagogue, which is
Called
the synagogue of libertines and Cyrenians
Alexandrians
and of them of Cilicia and Asia,
Disputing
with Stephen.
(10) And
they were not able to resist the Wisdom and
The
spirit by which he spake”
And I prophesy, this year will never end without you
experiencing the power of figure 7
in your Career, ministry and Academics through the Holy Ghost in Jesus Name. The wonders of Figure 7 will bring transformation to your life today in JESUS NAME. AMEN
