DISCOVERING TALENT

I CORINTHIAN 3:6

Mathew 25:14-30

Whatever we think that we have achieved or accomplish in life, is irrelevant without God, so let us endeavor to give God the glory in all our effort, achievement or success knowing that he is the divine instructor behind every progress we made in life. You don’t need to struggle with any man or brag over your value and worth in the society because Jehovah the divine Amour bearer who fights our battle in secret will always stand out to defend us when we appreciate him or give Him glory for every success or achievement in life.   

I CORINTHIAN  3:6

(6)       “I planted, Appollos watered,

But God kept making it to grow

(7)       So that neither is the one who

            Plants anything or the one who

Waters, But God who makes

It grow”

In anything we do in life, we should consider that growth and increase is God’s responsibility to decide. When you merit it, He will not relent to give it to you. But that does not mean that we should be lazy folding our hands towards Kingdom business. As a matter of fact laziness is a destroyer. This is why we should not be friendly to lazy people. Using the parable of the talent as an illustration, God gave to everyone gift according to his ability or grace. Some received one talent, others two talents, and still others five talents. But at the end of the day the lazy one that received one, still went and buried the only one he received while others two traded with their talents and gained extra 2 and 5 talents to add to the one God has assigned to him. When God came to take stocks, the lazy man began to brag with the reasons why He should not trade with that talent.

MATHEW 25:24

(24)     “Finally the slave who had received the one talent

            Came forward and said: Master, I knew you to be

            Demanding where you did not sow and gathering

            Where you did not winnow.

(25)     So I grew afraid and went and hid your talent

 in the ground, Here, you have what is yours”

This is to tell you that fear are an Ideology of a lazy man. A lazy man is the man that refuses to take risk in life. Always at the comfort zone, a Lot of us is like that: we have a lot of talent we can’t put to work or refine to bless humanity. Some of us are very good singers, others are prolific writers, while still others are powerful actors. Yet we cannot sit down to plan and give those gift appropriate directions on how to gain more talents.

Look! Until you release the one you given, you cannot gain another one. It is synonymous with giving out money. It is in the process of utilizing the one you are given that you will receive more. This is why a lot of people are stagnant. Some don’t even know the talent they have. You need to discover your own first, and then use it. Don’t live a careless life, discover your talent and use it. This is where laziness starts. And God will punish anyone for being lazy and the punishment is abject poverty because there is nothing to increase when talent has not been discovered or put to work.

You may ask “What is talent?” Anything that is profitable to your neighbor or the society which you have is your talent. And you are not created to die with it. So learn to discover it and release it to bless people around you. Then your life will be meaningful to God and the Society at large. And note talent cannot constitute corruption, it must be positive, always ready to change or impart to life positively. So what people calls talent today is not talent: Prostitution and promiscuous life can never be a talent as well as 419 can never be a talent? So don’t be deceived.

MATHEW 25:26

(26)     “In reply his master said to him “wicked and sluggish slave

            You knew, did you, did you? That I reap where I did not

            Sow and gathered where I did not winnow?

(27)     well, then you should have deposited my money with

            Bankers, and on my coming I would have received it with interest.

(28)     Therefore, take the talent away from him and give it to the one

            Who has the ten talent

(29)     for to everyone who has more will be given, and he

will have an abundance; But the one who does not have,;

even what he has will be taken away from him

(30)     And throw the good for nothing slave out into nothing

            Slave out into darkness outside, there is where his

            Weeping and gnashing of teeth will be”

You are inexcusable for being lazy, so Abject poverty is the punishment for that.
