ISAIAH 15:1-END
ECCLESIASTES
5:1-END
ISAIAH 61:1-END
As a Christian, born again, what is your duty to
God? Ask yourself “what am I doing for God to remember that he sent me to
planet earth”? David was remembered for his exploits to the extent that
whenever God remembers David, he will have mercy on the children of Israel.
ISAIAH 37:35
(35) “I
will defend this city and save it for my own sake
And
for the sake of my servant David”
Remember that King David was already late for
decades, yet what He did was still speaking good news before God. Now, ask
yourself “who am I leaving for? For
myself or for a fellow human being? These form the centre of our discussion
today.
What you are doing for God is very important,
because at the end of the day, you will give account of whatever you use your
mouth to achieve. Some people are good in gossiping; even to the extent of
using their mouth to set the house of God ablaze, while others will use the
same mouth to brag and vow what they cannot accomplish for God out of pride,
but when they are found wanting by angels of God for what they promised, the
trouble that comes along with it will still make them to blame pastors and the
church.
ECCLESIASTES 5:1
(1)
“Watch your step whenever you go to the house of true
God; it is better to draw
near to listen than to give sacrifice
As the stupid ones do, for
they are not aware that what
they are doing is bad.
(2)
Do not be quick with your mouth, nor let your heart speak
rashly before the true God,
for the true God is in the heavens
but you are on the earth.
That is why your word should be
few
(3)
For a dream comes from too many preoccupations,
and the chatter of the
stupid one comes from the many
words
(4)
Whenever you make a vow to God, do not delay to pay
It, for he
finds no pleasure in the stupid ones. What you
Vow, pay
(5)
Better for you not to vow than to vow and not pay
(6)
Do not allow your mouth to cause you to sin and
Do not say before the angel that it was a mistake.
why make the true God indignant
over what you say
so he has to destroy the
works of your hands
(7)
For just as my preoccupations leads to dream,
So, too many words leads to
futility. But fear the
true God”
The above scripture remains the summary of what is
capable of ruining people’s destiny and careers, especially vowing and not
meeting up with the demands. Sometimes God will begin to fight you because of
what you have caused yourself. But you don’t know that it is God resisting your
effort, because God will always resist the proud and give grace to the humble.
Now what did God expect from you? God expects you to proclaim the good news of
the Kingdom of God in place of gossip. This is why the apostle Paul said that
if anyone visit you for any other purpose rather than the gospel, do not
welcome such a person.
2 JOHN 1:10
(1)
“If anyone comes to you and does not bring
this teaching, do not
receive him into your
homes or say a greeting to
him”
This is to show you the important of good news to
God. Even before the coming of Jesus Christ. The apostle Paul said that even
prophet ISAIAH said it before the
coming of Jesus Christ.
ISAIAH 61:1
(1)
“The spirit of the sovereign Lord Jehovah is upon me,
Because Jehovah anointed me
to declare good news to
the meek
He sent me to bind up the
broken hearted
To proclaim liberty to the
captives
And the wide opening the
eyes to the prisoners,
(2)
To proclaim the year of Jehovah’s goodwill
And the day of vengeance of
our God
To comfort all who mourn
(3)
To provide for those mourning over Zion
To give them a headdress
instead of ashes
The oil of exultation
instead of mourning
The garment of praise
instead of a despondent spirit
And they will be called the
big tree of righteousness
The planting of Jehovah”
So today, whenever you are approaching the house of
God, mind what you are going there to do, go to fulfill obligation instead of
going there to fight for human right. If you want to fight for human right, the
government authorities and other statutory organizations empowered by law of
the federation are out in the world to attain to you as specified in the book
of ROMANS 13:1.
