ANGRY COUNTENANCE; BACKBITING TONGUE

SONGS OF SOLOMON 1:1-END
PROVERB 25:1-END
ISAIAH 57:1-END

We are in a society where people like to discuss others; the centre of discussion is what sometimes forms the view and perception people will develop towards the victims of such discussions or gossips. Because gossip will not relent to spread like fire, but it started from a point to exaggeration and from exaggeration, it forms an image in the mindset of the hearer, at this point hatred and like is already the ideas of the people that hear the gossip and exaggeration towards the victims of the gossip.

When you become a victim of gossip, you can only discover your opponents, only when you are making progress because what they think that will be your final destination or landing based on their gossip is entirely different from what they are seeing. As a result, they will resort to opposition in order to justify their slander and backbiting. So when you come in contact of such people, the only thing you will discover is an angry countenance which is the evidence of state of their minds towards you.
PROVERB 25:23
(23)     “The north wind brings a downpour
And a gossiping tongue brings an
            angry face”

This quality is predictable, because you cannot hide the state of your mind towards your neighbor. Even if you don’t see the angry countenance, try to engage such a person into discussion to notice the artificial smiles and laughter that goes with gnashing of teeth which does not come or sinks neither from the heart nor belly. At this point of discussion, he/she is seizing opportunity or weak points to strike another gossip against you and to further bring you down or castigate your image at the back. This is a dangerous game to joke with. People like this don’t progress in life.
PROVERB 29:5
(1)               “A man who flatter his neighbor spreads out
A net for his feet”

This is one of the dangerous things about gossip; it will be sweet when the rumor is flying from one end to the other end, but grieving and sad at the end of the day when it is found to be half truth. Tracing the gossip to the root is very painful and humiliating to the gossipers. Please in this second quarter of the year, one should not be like the wicked who loves to spread rumor. Listen to rumor but be slow to report rumor because it can be dangerous. And don’t be the first to use your tongue to destroy your fellow human being because if you do that, you must surely be the next victim of what you do to others.
EXODUS 23:1
(1)               “You must not spread a report that is not true
Do not cooperate with a wicked one by becoming
a malicious witness”

Desist from rumor spreading and become free in the society. Remain blessed.
