PROVERB 27:1-6
PROVERB 21:1-8
Boasting
is a common evidence of pride and superiority complex which also serves as a
fastest way to demotion. This dangerous sinful act begins with self exaltation
towards achievement and success; glorifying your might against the knowledge of
the most high God. Now you can go and ask King Nebuchadnezzar the dangerous
effect of this act in his life:
DANIEL 4:30
(30) “The
king was saying: “Is this not Babylon the Great that
I
myself have built for the royal house by my own strength
and might and for the
glory of my majesty”
(31) While
the word was yet in the King’s mouth, a voice came
Down
from heaven: “To you it is being said, O king
Nebuchadnezzar, the
Kingdom had gone away from you
(32) And
from mankind you are being driven away with the
Beast of the field
your dwelling will be and you will be
Given vegetation to
eat just like bulls, and seven times will
Pass over you, until
you know that the most high in the Kingdom
of mankind and that
he grant it to whomever he wants”
Now having
learned from the effect of this boasting from Nebuchadnezzar the King of
Babylon, now how do we go about boasting? Every boast that is not attributing
glory and praise to God is out of pride and superiority complex which attract
demotion from God. It is also similar to receiving the glory due for God. (Acts
12: 21-23)
PROVERB 27:1
(1) “Do
not boast about tomorrow, let someone praise you
And
not our own mouth, others and not your own lips”
To boast
about anything apart from God is pride and arrogance, and that is the fastest
way to demotion. But to boast about God is approved and that is the easiest way
to promotion. God does not share glory with anything because he is jealous by
nature. And his jealousy can kill instantly go and ask King Herod:
ACTS 12:21
(21) “On
a set day, Herod clothed himself with royal raiment
Sat
down on judgment seat and began giving them public
address
(22) Then
the people who were assembled began Shouting:
“A god’s voice and not a man’s”!
(23) Instantly
the Angel of Jehovah struck him down
Because
he did not give glory to God, and he
Was
eaten by worms and died”
Some of us are like that people will be praising you and
you will never return the glory to God who has created you, this is why God
must always resist the proud personalities and give grace to humble ones. We can
see that our God is jealous over sharing his glory. Who should we give glory
then?
2 CORINTHIAN 10:17
(17) “But the one who boast, let him boast in Jehovah
for
it is not the one who recommends himself
who
is approved but the one whom Jehovah
recommends”
When you recommend yourself, Jehovah becomes helpless to
recommend you because the accuser will always show up to accuse you as a child
of God because you have gone contrary to his will but with power in the blood
of Jesus Christ you have overcome Satan
the accuser. Today approval is coming your way in Jesus name. Amen.
