ISAIAH 15:1-END
ISAIAH
14:1-END
ECCLESIASTES 2:1-END
The things of natural world which make
s man rebel against God are all vanity; People had so much trusted in what they
owe and possessed to the extent that God sometimes will want to take them away
because of idolatry of trust in the Mundane world. As servants of God; some
pastors don’t even make out time to study the word of God because of activities
of counseling for gain. Look; you have to give God attention first through His
word before you can be able to counsel right. It is only the word of God that
can guarantee your peace and safety as well as contentment. But the chasing of
vanity of wealth is about to land even the servants of God in calamity; but
today, God said that he is about to bring restoration as you make amendment to
your ways:
ECCLESIASTES
2:1-11
(1)
I said in
mine heart, Go to now, I will prove thee
with mirth, therefore enjoy pleasure:
and, behold,
this also is vanity.
(2)
I said of
laughter, It is mad: and of mirth, What
doeth it?
(3)
I sought
in mine heart to give myself unto wine,
yet
acquainting mine heart with wisdom; and to lay hold
on folly, till I might see what was that good
for the sons
of men,
which they should
do under the heaven all the days of
their life.
(4)
I made me
great works; I builded me houses; I planted me
vineyards:
(5)
I made me
gardens and orchards, and I planted trees in them of all kind of fruits:
(6)
I made me
pools of water, to water therewith the wood that bringeth forth trees:
(7)
I got me
servants and maidens, and had servants born in my house; also I had great
possessions of great and small cattle above all that were in Jerusalem before
me:
(8)
I gathered
me also silver and gold, and the peculiar treasure of kings and of the
provinces: I gat me men singers and women singers, and the delights of the sons
of men, as musical instruments, and that of all sorts.
(9)
So I was
great, and increased more than all that were before me in Jerusalem: also my
wisdom remained with me.
(10)
And
whatsoever mine eyes desired I kept not from them, I withheld not my heart from
any joy; for my heart rejoiced in all my labour: and this was my portion of all
my labour.
(11)
Then
Ilooked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I
had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and
there was no profit under the sun.
Those that trusted in vanity in the
past were disappointed talk more of those that are about to emulate such life style:
ISAIAH 14:5-9
(5) The LORD hath broken the staff of
the wicked,
and the sceptre of the rulers.
(6) He
who smote the people in wrath with a continual
stroke, he that ruled the nations in
anger, is
persecuted, and none hindereth.
(7) The whole earth is at rest, and is
quiet: they
break forth into singing.
(8) Yea, the fir trees rejoice at
thee, and the cedars
of Lebanon, saying, Since thou art
laid down, no feller
is come up against us.
(9) Hell from beneath is moved for thee to
meet thee at thy coming:
it
stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the
earth;
it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the
nations.
You cannot eat
your cake and have it back; there is no way you will serve yourself and the world expecting
heaven to pay you with eternal life. And that was the case and position of King
of Babylon who later faced the consequences of trusting in Vanity:
ISAIAH
14:20-23
(18) All the kings of the nations, even all of
them, lie in
glory,
every one in his own house.
(19) But thou art cast out of thy grave like an
abominable
branch,
and as the raiment of those that are slain,
thrust
through with a sword, that go down to the
stones
of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet. .
(20) “Thou shalt not be joined with them in
burial, because thou
hast
destroyed thy land, and slain thy people: the seed of
evildoers shall never be renowned.
(21) Prepare slaughter for his children for the
iniquity of their
fathers;
that they do not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill
the
face of the world with cities.
(22) For I will rise up against them, saith the
LORD of hosts, and cut
off
from Babylon the name, and remnant, and son, and nephew,
saith
the LORD.
(23) I will also make it a possession for the
bittern, and pools of
water:
and I will sweep it with the besom of destruction, saith
the
LORD of hosts.”
(24) The LORD of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely
as
I
have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as
I
have purposed, so shall it stand:
(25) That I will break the Assyrian in my land,
and
upon
my mountains tread him under foot: then
shall
his yoke depart from off them, and his
burden
depart from off their shoulders.
(26) This is the purpose that is purposed upon the
whole
earth:
and this is the hand that is stretched out upon
all
the nations.
(27) For the LORD of hosts hath purposed, and who
shall
disannul it? and his hand is stretched out, and
who
shall turn it back?”
So as you trust in the Lord today; God is
about to bring a divine restoration your way in Jesus name. Amen.
