PUNISHMENT FOR REBELLION

There is nothing that annoys God than when He gives instruction to his people through his true prophet; they will not adhere to the latter letter of the warnings. God has in the past sent warning to his people through Prophet to correct their errors but those instructions they turned down and chose the good things which the false prophets are dishing out as: “thus said the lord”:

JEREMAIAH 14:10

(10) “This is what Jehovah says concerning this people:

         They love to wander about; they have not restrained

         Their feet so Jehovah finds no pleasure in them

         Now, he will remember their error and call them to

         Account for sins.

(11) Then Jehovah said to me : “Do not pray for good to

        come to this people.

(12) When they fast, I do not listen to their entreaties,

           And when they offer whole burnt offerings and grain

        Offerings, I take no pleasure in them, for by the sword

        Famine and by pestilence, I will do away with them

(13) At this said “Alas, O sovereign Lord Jehovah! Here the

        Prophets are saying to them “You will not see the sword

       and famine will not come upon you, but I will give you

       true peace in this place.

(14)  Jehovah then said to me: “The prophets are prophesying

         Lies in my name. I have not sent them or commanded them

        Or spoken to them. A lying vision and a worthless

        divination and deceit of their own heart is what they are

        prophesying to you

(15) Therefore, this what Jehovah says concerning the prophets

       Who are prophesying in my name, though I did not send them,

       And who say that no sword or famine will occur in this land:

      By sword and famine those prophets will perish

(16) And the people to whom they prophesy will be cast out

          in to the street of Jerusalem because of famine will in the

        land: By sword and by famine those prophets will perish”

God will not relent to punish disobedient of his people and His servants. This is why we must be at an alert to every instruction that comes by Holy Ghost; knowing that it is not by our making but by God’s divine intervention that we are still alive irrespective of our errors. But his grace is still sufficient for us:

ISAIAH 8:6

(6) “Jehovah spoke to me again because this people

       Has rejected the gently flowing waters of the shiloah

      And they rejoice over Rezin and the sons of Remaliah

(7) Therefore look! Jehovah will bring against them; the

      Mighty and vast waters of the river

      The king of Assyria and all his glory, He will come up

      over all his glory

      He will come up over all his streambed; and overflow all

      His banks

 (8) And sweep through Judah, He will flood and pass through

      Reaching to the neck; His outspread wings will fill the

      Breadth of your land

      O Immanuel!”

God is expressly sounding warning to those who are good in disrespecting his instruction. Those who rejoice in doing evil will have to resist and desist from it today so that God’s wrath will be tamed to their destruction. Remained blessed:
