JEREMIAH

JEREMIAH
34:1-END
When injustice of wickedness is in midst
of God’s Holy place; then what can God’s righteous ones do. This is why
today God is sounding warning to every form of injustice of wickedness;
especially to the less privileged and widows. He said that He
will not relent to punish the wickedness against the poor and widows
in the society. And as a result God yearns for justice to prevail to
their course:
JEREMIAH 4:1-8
(1) “If thou wilt return, O Israel, saith the
LORD, return unto
me: and if thou wilt put away thine
abominations out of
my sight, then shalt thou not remove.
(2) And thou shalt swear, The LORD liveth, in
truth, in
judgment, and in righteousness; and the
nations
shall bless themselves in him, and in him
shall they glory.
(3) For thus saith the LORD to the men of
Judah and
Jerusalem, Break up your fallow ground, and
sow not
among thorns.
(4) Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, and
take away the
foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and
inhabitants
of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like
fire, and burn
that none can quench it, because of the evil
of your doings.
(5) Declare ye in Judah, and publish in Jerusalem;
and
say, Blow ye the trumpet in the land: cry,
gather together,
and say, Assemble yourselves, and let us go
into the
(6) Set
up the standard toward Zion: retire, stay not: for
I
will bring evil from the north, and a great destruction.”
(7) The lion is come up from his thicket, and
the
destroyer
of the Gentiles is on his way; he is gone
forth
from his place to make thy land desolate;
and
thy cities shall be laid waste, without an
inhabitant.
(8) For this gird you with sackcloth, lament
and howl:
for
the fierce anger of the LORD is not turned
back
from us.
Today, God said that He is about to us
use the King of Babylon to punish the injustice of Judah and Jerusalem who
ceaselessly oppress the less privileged and denying them their human right:
JEREMIAH 34:2-5
(2) “Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel; Go
and
speak
to Zedekiah king of Judah, and tell him,
Thus
saith the LORD; Behold, I will give this city
into
the hand of the king of Babylon, and he
shall
burn it with fire:
(3) And thou shalt not escape out of his hand,
but
shalt
surely be taken, and delivered into his
hand;
and thine eyes shall behold the eyes of
the
king of Babylon, and he shall speak with thee
mouth
to mouth, and thou shalt go to Babylon.
(4) Yet hear the word of the LORD, O Zedekiah
king
of
Judah; Thus saith the LORD of thee, Thou shalt
not
die by the sword:
(5) But thou shalt die in peace: and with the
burnings
of thy fathers, the former kings
which
were before thee, so shall they burn
odours
for thee; and they wil
l
lament thee, saying, Ah lord! for I
have
pronounced the word, saith the LORD.”
God is doing this because of their
wickedness towards the less privileged; they lacked human conscience to the
plight of their servants which is against the will of God.
JEREMIAH 34:8-16
(8) “This is the word that came unto Jeremiah
from
the
LORD, after that the king Zedekiah had
made
a covenant with all the people which
were
at Jerusalem, to proclaim liberty unto
them;
(9) That every man should let his manservant,
and
every man his maidservant, being an
Hebrew
or an Hebrewess, go free; that
none
should serve himself of them, to wit,
of
a Jew his brother.
(10) Now when all the princes, and all the
people,
which had entered into the covenant,
heard
that everyone should let his manservant,
and everyone his maidservant, go free, that
none
should serve themselves of them
anymore,
then they obeyed, and let them go.
(11) But afterward they turned, and caused the
servants
and the handmaids, whom they
had
let go free, to return, and brought
them
into subjection for servants and for
handmaids.
(12) Therefore the word of the LORD came to
Jeremiah
from the LORD, saying,
(13) Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel; I
made
a covenant with your fathers in the
day
that I brought them forth out of the
land
of Egypt, out of the house of
bondmen,
saying,
(14) At the end of seven years let ye go every
man
his brother an Hebrew, which hath
been
sold unto thee; and when he hath
served
thee six years, thou shalt let him
go
free from thee: but your fathers
hearkened
not unto me, neither inc
lined
their ear.
(15) And ye were now turned, and had done
right
in my sight, in proclaiming liberty
every
man to his neighbour; and ye had
made
a covenant before me in the house
which
is called by my name:
(16) But ye turned and polluted my name,
and
caused everyman his servant, and
every
man his handmaid, whom he had
set
at liberty at their pleasure, to return,
and
brought them into subjection, to be
unto
you for servants and for handmaids”
So today God is
not happy with injustice of any kind; and will not relent punish them as He
said. Remain blessed.
